Mike was a friend and officemate from grad school who passed away at much too young an age. Mike always had a smile, a cheerful outlook and sharp wit. He was obviously very intelligent, but he was also one of the good guys and will be missed. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to Grace and family.

Mike - on behalf of the old gang let me say that you were a great guy and the best of friends to all of us for more than 40 years. We are all very sad you are no longer with us. But if we are sad you are gone we are also grateful for all of the good times that we shared together. Farewell, my friend.

Our condolences during this most trying time. We only learned of Michael and the ALS from which he suffered only recently. We have seen photos of Michael engaging in efforts showing how he refused to be outdone by the debilitating disease. Michael's life of academic and professional successes are achievements of which all the family can be very proud.
With prayers and warmest thoughts for all all the family and especially for Michael.
