Cemetery Counsellors

Originally from Algeria, Meriem Mimoune and her family came to Canada in 1998, as refugees. She grew up in Montreal before moving to Ottawa in 2012, to pursue her studies in Cognitive Science and Psychology at Carleton University. In 2015, Meriem joined the Beechwood team as a lead-in to assist families with their needs at the gravesite. Being a firm believer in human compassion and always wanting to help others, she resonates with Beechwood’s values and recognizes the support families deserve during a difficult time.

In 2018, Meriem obtained her certification as a cemetery representative and funeral pre-planner. She strives to serve her families with empathy, compassion and professionalism every step of the way. Meriem looks forward to seeing where her newfound love of the industry will lead her in her future. When not working, Meriem enjoys long walks with her dogs and spending quality time with her friends.
