Succumbed to heart failure after a long struggle with poems disease, a rare and complex blood cancer, on February 13, 2021.

He leaves to mourn his wife Rosemary and the two daughters he adored, Alexis and Brianna. Lt. Colonel Timothy Orange was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Joycelyn (nee Urquhart) Orange. Tim has now joined them and will enjoy their company at their place of rest.

Sister Virginia, brother Tom and partner Rose Austin, sisters Cynthia and brother-in-law Joseph Fardell, sister Maryanne and brother-in-law Gary Ross, know his stories will never rest until heaven‘s end.

Tim was a proud and devoted soldier in the Canadian Army during his 42 year career. Tim served with the Argylls and Sutherland Regiment, 2PPCLI, 3 Commando The Airborne Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Canada, The Lorne Scots, as their commanding officer and finished his career with the Royal Canadian Regiment.

He served all across the globe for Canada and regaled us with stories of serving during the Montreal Olympics, overseas tours in Cyprus, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

He adored his daughters Alexis and Brianna. Nothing was more important to him than knowing he set them up to launch careers in professional ballet and in the dramatic arts should they so choose. In surviving this complex disease he taught all who knew him how to truly give your all to every task at hand.

We will miss him with the same vigour.

Rest now dear soldier. We’ll miss you and will be watching for you. Winds 5. Carry on. Booyah.

Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, attendance will be restricted to a limited number of individuals, personally invited by the family.

Today I had the opportunity to attend Tim's service. I am so proud to be his brother in law and honoured to be married in a loving family "The Oranges".
Today's services was a great tribute to an amazing man. Tim will never be forgotten for many especially his immediate family who loved him and his family.
Rosemary and the girls God Bless you now and forever. Your Angel in Heaven will be looking down on you and protect you I'm sure.

I came to know Tim in the fall of 2014 when he enrolled in my amateur radio course offered by the Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club. Through our radio course and following exam, Tim qualified for his Certificate of Proficiency in Amateur Radio (with Honours) issued by Industry Canada and obtained the call sign VA3ZZW. As a military man, no doubt acquiring a good amount of radio communications savvy, Tim would always give his call sign with conviction and clarity “Here is Victor Alpha Three Zulu Zulu Whiskey” on the air waves when he checked into our weekly radio club “nets”.
Tim helped our radio Club achieve a good score for our June 2016 Field Day exercise and competition we conducted that year on the grounds of the Aviation and Space Museum. Bonus points are awarded to Clubs that invite an elected official to attend. Tim reached out on behalf the Club to his former military colleague, then MP for Orleans, the Honourable Andrew Leslie who accepted his invitation and attended our event. Following Tim’s initial hospitalization, I had the opportunity to help Tim use his amateur band radio again with a custom made ear piece and microphone assembly with a push-to-talk switch he could activate by placing his hand over it. Later, he had regained strength in his hand to properly hold and use again the regular microphone. Tim would check-in regularly to our Club’s weekly VHF radio communications “net” and would tell us he remained active with his on-going physiotherapy. I visited Tim many times at his home helping him to better his radio installation and got to know his positive attitude in spite of his situation. It was an honour to know and provide assistance to Tim Orange, VA3ZZW. We will all miss hearing his voice over the radio air-waves.
On behalf of the Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club and all the radio amateurs that he engaged with him over his amateur radio, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences to Tim’s wife Rosemary, his daughters and his entire family and friends.
