It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother who died peacefully in her home on April 26, 2019 at 89 years of age surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her first husband Glen, mother Anne Marie, father Otis, brother Bill and sister Adelaide and grandson Glen. She will be greatly missed by her children Robin (Archie Derx), Janice, Kirk, Cindy Halcrow, Holly, Tom (Heather) and Bill (Stephanie King). She was an adoring grandmother to Allison, Jamie, Lynne, Jeff, Karen, Victoria, Gary, Andrew, Cheryl, Matt, Zach, Aidan and Josh. and great grandmother of 13. Dear sister of Robert Broughton, Patricia Toporowski and Ken Broughton. A very special thank you to Palliative Care and the Westwood Retirement Home for their excellent care of our mother in her final days. Friends and family are invited to visit at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 12 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Evelyn to the Queensway Carleton Hospital.

I served as Evelyn's pastor for about 10 years. I enjoyed our meetings and conversations.
At one point she asked if she could join my pastor's class. I told that she was very welcome but that most students would be teenagers. She joined the class and was a wonderful asset to the class.
