Kenneth Claude Finch of Orchard Walk Retirement Center, died after a short illness on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 90 years. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 67 years, Elizabeth (nee Jarman). He is fondly remembered by his siblings June Boland (Gil) and Graham (Peggy) and nephew Ken (Kerry). Predeceased by sister-in-law, Lily Jarman, and brothers-in-law Stan (MaryJane) and Frederick Jarman. He will be forever remembered by his many good friends, neighbours and lovers of the fine arts.
Ken graduated in Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art and taught drawing and painting at the Ottawa School of Art, and at Algonquin College's Diploma Program for which he received a Certificate of Appreciation. Ken was a proud life-time member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society. He chaired a committee that led to the establishment of Arts Court and the Ottawa Art Gallery and served as vice-chair of Canadian Artist’s Representation of Ottawa (CARO). He conducted numerous workshops, taught privately and exhibited in group and solo art exhibitions in the Ottawa area. His studio was located at his rural home near Metcalfe. Ken was a practicing artist all his life.

During this uncertain time I have been thinking back on my life. I thought about Ken my drawing teacher who had such a passion for art. He loving sharing his passion and had a great influence on me.
