At the age of 79, at the Ottawa General Hospital on January 2, 2020. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Ralph John Scandiffio and loving mother of Michael and Laura. She was mother-in-law to Debora Brown and Robert Ellis and grandmother to Claire, Gregory, Nicholas and Thomas.
Eileen is survived by sister Cecilia Mealing (Victoria, B.C.), and predeceased by her parents John and Mary Shanahan and sisters Patricia MacLeod (Peterborough, Ont.), Doreen McDonough (Toronto, Ont.), Margaret Getty (Victoria, B.C.), and Sheila Shanahan (Vancouver, B.C.).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Annunciation of the Lord Parish, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Gloucester, on Saturday, January 11, 2019 at 1 pm. A reception will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa from 3 to 5PM. Eileen’s family sincerely thanks the staff and volunteers at Donegal House of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa.
