With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Katherine "Kathy" Black, who left us peacefully with her family by her side.
Katherine is predeceased by her parents William and Margaret Baldwin and daughter Andrea.
Katherine was known by her friends and family for the kindness she has for all people. She spent many years dedicated to volunteering in the community to help the vulnerable and those in need. Katherine's love of animals was clear to all who knew her. Molly, Marvin, Dusty, Blackie, Boots, Daisy and Bogie all shared a special place in her heart.
Katherine was happiest when spending her summers at her cottage on Johnson Lake in Ladysmith, Quebec.
Katherine was married to Gordon Black of Shawville, Quebec for 27 years. Together they had 3 children.
Katherine is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Leslie Ann) and Robert (Sarah), her three granddaughters Morgan, Charlotte, and Claire and her sister Heather Baldwin of Montreal, Quebec.
A private memorial service will take place, with interment in the spring. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
