Chinh Van Chau, 86, of Ottawa, died April 30, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital after courageously battling Covid-19.

Born on May 26, 1933 in Vietnam.  He became a Captain of the South Vietnam Army after graduating from the Vietnamese National Military Academy of DaLat. While stationed in central Vietnam (Hue), he met his wife.

Upon finishing his army duty, he was awarded a National Scholarship to study at New Mexico State University in the U.S. and obtained his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.

He moved to Canada after the Vietnam war and sponsored his family. While in Canada, he continued his education and achieved a Master in Computer Science from McGill University.

Years later, he started his own income tax business in Toronto. With his passion for dance, he was able to obtain a dance teaching certificate from the U.K. and started his own dance studio.

He worked extremely hard and maintained his fitness for as long as his health permitted. He eventually retired at age 80.

He is survived by his wife, sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren.
