We lost our beloved Aline, mother, wife and sibling very suddenly on May 3rd, 2019. Aline fell ill on April 1st. In her typically positive and selfless manner, she told her loved ones it was the worst April fools’ joke ever. Aline lived her life with kindness, humor, positivity, generosity and a passion for all that she undertook. Looking back at the way she lived, her family takes comfort in knowing that she lived the way she wanted. Aline was unapologetically herself and that was the best part of her.

It's so difficult to capture everything that Aline was. What will be remembered is that she never did anything half way. She was excited at the prospect of learning and conquering new things; her beautiful gardens at her Ottawa and Mattawa homes, her gift for photography, her love of cooking. She loved throwing a good party. She was unforgettable.

She excelled as a self-taught technical writer. She leaves behind a work family and a job she didn't see ending any time soon.

She will be missed by her loving husband Mauro, daughter Chanel (Mathieu), grandson Alec, siblings Hélène (André), Claude (Monique), Pauline (Peter). Aline will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Aline was predeceased by her brother and great buddy Roger (Lauren) on March 23rd, 2019.

A private interment will be held at the Beechwood Cemetery, and a celebration of Aline's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in honor of Aline can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Enide Emond and the Emond Family

It is with shock and sadness that we heard of Aline's passing. She was a wonderful neighbour in Mattawa and was always available for help when Mom and Dad needed it. Her joie de vivre will be sadly missed. We are thinking of you all in this time of sadness. Aline, you will live on in our family especially for the <<montage>> you did of the family when Mom and Dad moved. Thank you for all the good times with Mauro and you.

Aline, tu nous as quittés beaucoup trop vite et ton départ nous chagrine énormément. Tu seras toujours dans nos pensées et je vais chérir tous les bons moments passés ensemble. Ton amitié restera gravée à jamais dans nos cœurs.

Aline, we only met once but felt like we already knew you from Chanel's anectdodes and stories over the years. You've raised an amazing girl, that we are proud to call a dear friend and are saddened that we will not be able to share more moments with you. You'll be in our hearts at every major step of her life and celebration that we will share. Rest in peace

Love

Ma tante:
It’s hard to imagine a Damphousse gathering without you. You were the life of the party and we will miss you terribly. Your sense of humour and love of life was contagious. I have fond memories of you helping me plan a bathroom reno, sharing recipe tips and tricks and your famous thumb dance (you know the one). Luv u always xx

Mauro/Chanel: My heart breaks for you! I love you both and am thinking of you during this difficult time xx

Très chère cousine Aline, je pense à toi très souvent et souhaite que tu sois dans un paradis fleurit mur à mur !
Quand je vois dans mon jardin les lupins, iris, 4 heures que tu m’a donner, je pense a toi.
Denis and I enjoyed our ( almost) yearly garden party, plant exchanges, music discoveries and photo viewings. We will miss you.
To Mauro, Chanel and Damphousse family: Please know that we are with you in your grief and accept our deepest sympathy.

Liem & François

Aline, your colleagues at work were shocked and very sad with this news especially those who are benefited by your help and assistance. In the past 6 months or so, you have done so much for us that we can never forget and we worked so well together that you even coined the term LAF Co. (Liem, Aline, and Francois Company). LAF Co. has made significant achievement but this company is now struggling without you! You are a true legendary and left behind examples for others to follow. We sincerely thank and appreciate your outstanding contribution. We pray for you to be with God.
