IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF MRS. ANGÉLINE LEFEBVRE

Mrs. Angéline (Line) Lefebvre, née Lafontaine, passed away on November 14, 2019, surrounded by her family. It was after a delicate surgery and a hard fight for her life that she left us. She was Albert Lefebvre's beloved wife; the couple was to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on November 21.

Daughter of the late Odilon Lafontaine and Annette Lafontaine (Paul), she is survived by her daughter Joanne (John Bennett) and son Louis (Lisa Killeen), her grandchildren Anne-Christine Asselin, Charles-Albert Asselin (Sienna Lee-Coughlin), Mathieu Lefebvre, and Alexandre Lefebvre. Also grieving are her sisters Mireille (Jean Meunier), Marie-Marthe (Kurt Kulakowsky), Céline (Paul Lachapelle), her three brothers Raymond (Christine Marengère), Michel (Chantal Carle), and Paul (Danielle Dauphinais), sister-in-law Gisèle Lefebvre (Élie Souligny), and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Estelle (Jean-Luc Lacroix) and by her three very young brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank all the staff on the 2nd floor of the B wing of the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. The care she received from nurses (especially from Sue of Palliative Care) and doctors (in particular the surgeon Dr. Mahar Matar) and the support staff during the 44 days spent on the floor was exceptional during these very difficult times.

We also want to acknowledge the remarkable care that she received from two excellent doctors, Dr. André Gauthier and Lorraine and Dr. Jocelyn Deneault, during all the years before her death.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, November 28 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Beechwood Funeral Home, 280 Beechwood Avenue in Ottawa.

The service will be held on Friday, November 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica at 385 Sussex Dr. in Ottawa. The family will receive condolences starting at 9:30 a.m. that morning.

In memoriam donations can be made to Angéline-Lefebvre Memorial Scholarship, https://alumni.uottawa.ca/donation-form
