Martina Olga Todd (nee Jacobsen) passed away on Wednesday Oct. 30, 2019 at the age of 90. She was an artist, a teacher, a mother and grandmother but above all she was a truly amazing woman.

Predeceased by her husband John and her son Bruce (Mankee Mah) she is fondly remembered by her children Diane and Andrew (Anne Bergeron) and her grandchildren Connor, Gradey, Roxanne and Zoe.

There will be a celebration of her life on November 9th. The visitation at the Beechwood Cemetery Memorial Centre will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm. A service at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will follow at 1 pm.

She will be laid to rest at the Beechwood Cemetery at 3 pm. Family and friends will gather for a reception at the Beechwood Cemetery Memorial Centre from 3 pm to 5 pm. Those who do not wish to attend the interment can go directly to the reception.

Martina loved teaching and loved art. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Gallery of Canada Foundation - Education Programs.

Ina, an amazing person and friend of 71 years. We shared college, great marriages,
and a deep love of learning, art, and teaching. A great loss. I will remember Ina always.

I knew Martina only as a client with the dealership I work for (Performance Mazda). She had been a client here as long as I've been an employee. I am truly very sorry to hear of her passing. She was always a very genuine person and an absolute pleasure to be around, We would have very long conversations every time she came to see us. Martina was a wonderful person. We have just heard of her passing today and we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to her family and friends.

Mrs. Todd was my art teacher in 1977 during my years at high school. She was such a wonderfully talented teacher, and quite a character as well. I shall always remember that special time we had together with great fondness. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Todd's family and friends.

I loved this truly amazing woman, full of energy, with a generous spirit and a zest for life I have rarely seen. Our years together coaching field hockey shine in my memory and we laughed 'til we cried about the antics of "our girls" out on the field hockey pitch. Mud, rain, snow...nothing stopped us! May you know, Marti, how much we appreciated you at BHS!! Truly, the memories will comfort us all. Sincere condolences to Marti's family.

Ms. Todd changed my life. I owe her everything. Rest in paradise, knowing you've touched more than my life. My son and I are eternally grateful for you having graced my life.

Mrs. Todd didn’t mince words. Always one of my most favorite teachers hands down…... and when you are 16 that’s really saying something! She will always be remembered

Dear Diane, Andrew and family. Sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Marti and I shared many hours together over our careers as teachers. She was always ready to work out any problem or situation that presented itself to her. I admired her for the way she helped both the strong and not so strong students in her art classes. She had the gift of being able to relate to all students. I shall remember her for the many times she invited us into her home and shared her life with Helen and myself. God bless,
Rod Heather
