On Sunday September 6, 2020, Martin Donovan Powell, cherished husband and father, passed away at the age of 57 surrounded by his family.
Martin will be lovingly remembered by his wife and partner of 29 years, Chantal (nee Boucher) and their three children, Keisha, Shelton and Julian. He is also survived by his mother Icilda Dixon, siblings Walter (Rhonda), Judy and Leslie (Steve), niece Nadia and children Shawn and Ash. He will be deeply missed by extended family, friends and colleagues.
Martin was a devoted father who always encouraged his children to pursue their interests. They were his pride and joy; the center of his universe. His positivity and determination were inspiring to everyone around him. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious laugh and his kind and compassionate spirit. Profound thanks to all of the Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) team members at TOH General Campus. We appreciated everyone’s loving care, compassion and kindness.

Martin’s life will be celebrated at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa in a private service due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Martin was a great guy. I thank him for all he did for me.
