—————

Hayat died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.  She is predeceased by her husband, Michel Kronfli.  They will be waltzing together in heaven.

Hayat is survived by her son Risk Kronfli and daughter-in-law Beverly Gillis-Kronfli; her daughter Randa and son-in-law Gilbert Boileau; as well as her precious grandson and granddaughter, Michael and Nicole Bell.

She touched the life of everyone she met, with her radiating smile, contagious optimism and abundant love, she is the queen of our hearts.

She was born in Homs, Syria, to Rafik Eneini and Adele Abboud, predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Youssef (Soad Samara), Josephine (Youssof Samara), Abdel Messih (Lilly Sabbagh), recently Rafika (Rafaat Abou Khater), Muguette (Kamal Ahwach), and Yorky (Jeannette Eneini)

After high school while studying pharmacy in university, people would ask her, "Why not get married instead?” to which she replied, "Not even if it was prince charming". She then met Michel, and when they asked, "Is he prince charming?" she said “Better”, with a big smile.

She moved to Egypt where she lived for 30 years before making Canada her forever home. First Toronto then Ottawa with Randa and Gilbert. She enjoyed visiting Risk and Bev in Halifax and visited often to boat and meet friends.  Her food extravaganzas and parties were always the topic of many conversations.

Hayat loved travelling and lived life to the fullest. She so loved her family and friends that she used any excuse to go visit. In one trip she circled the earth, from Canada to Europe, to Thailand, to Australia, and back to Canada.

She leaves behind her many loving nieces and nephews scattered across the globe.  Rania, Lynn, Fares, Yola and Rindala Samara and their families; Rabie, Rima, Roula and the late Rezk Abu Khater and their families; Magd and Amer Eneini and their families; Rafik and Maha Eneini and their families; Mazen and Hazar Eneini and their families; Hala Ahwash and her family; her nephews and nieces in law, Wedad, Huda, Jim and Nadia; Ted, Mona and Paul. To her family in Ottawa, Sarrouf, Hamwi, and Sabbagh, she was a mother figure and best friend, celebrating many of her birthdays and special occasions.

Her love to all was palpable, remember her in your prayers and with a big smile for all the memories.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Risk and Bev So sorry to hear the news of your Mom’s passing. She was such a kindhearted, caring person. We enjoyed meeting her when she visited NS. She loved to feed the neighbours her amazing traditional cuisine, she beamed as we delighted in sharing her feasts. We are thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. May your wonderful memories of special times together help give you strength at this time.
Sincerely, Carol and Jamie

Tante Hayat has always, and will forever be my closest and dearest relative.
Since my childhood, I remember her yearly visits from Egypt to Syria, laden with gifts to everyone of her nieces and nephews.
Later on, I’m proud to say that we shared some special times together on world trips: on elephant’s back in Thailand or cable car in North Queensland, she filled our time with relaxed, happy positive love and generosity of spirit.
Tante Hayat you’re gone but your memory will always be with me.
