It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Parvin Manouchehri, on August 29th 2021. After a courageous battle with cancer she passed peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters.

Parvin was known for her selflessness, benevolus character, and positive spirit. She was the beloved wife of late Captain Sadra Nayeri, loving and devoted mother of Henga (Parviz Kadivar), Parnaz (Reza Matine), Gita (Benoit Lebeau); cherished and proud grandmother of Kiana (Joel Ciravolo), Shahin, Leila, and Jonathan; and great grandmother to Theo and Olivia Ciravolo. Parvin is sorely missed by her beloved sister Maryam, her nieces and nephew; aunt Tala; Farideh, caring cousins, and dear friends.

Her decision to donate her body to the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine was surprising yet completely aligned with her values to help others even after she is gone.

We feel blessed that our mother received the professional and dignified care from Ottawa Hospital’s Oncology Department, Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre as well as Champlain LHIN. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Eleanor De Souza, Dr. Joanna Gotfrit, and the Community Palliative Medicine Associates team for delivering both attentive and compassionate service throughout our mom’s final chapter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Sunday, September 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. Words of Remembrance will be held from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Visitation will then follow until 2 p.m. Please note that Beechwood has strict COVID-19 protocols in place to ensure the safety of all attendees.

In memory of Parvin, donations to the Canadian or American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

My thoughts snd prayers are with the entire family. Although I never met your mom, each week that I saw Gita, she would tell me in detail about her mom’s condition , who she spoke so fondly of. The love that she and her two sisters had for their mom was shown by the devotion, care and attention that they gave to their mother. I remember Gita telling me « that it was a privilege to care for their mom ».

Mrs Nayeri was one of the "one of a kind " ladys, indirectly I learned a lot from her, how to be a human being, a citizen, a friend and more ...... may she rest in peace
