Marilyn passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the age of 66.

Beloved wife of Daniel Jodoin. Loving mother of Diane (Sam), Camille (Phil) and special pet Oliver. Dear sister of Margaret (Frank), Syl (Carol), Terry, Ruth, and Wayne (Robin). Predeceased by sister Diane (Bruce) and her parents Mary and Henry Allard. Dear sister-in-law of Cheryl (Tom), Penny (Jerry), Mark (Brenda) and Susan (Cliff). Predeceased by mother and father in-law Evelyn and Florentin (Peanut) Jodoin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn loved to read, to travel, to spend time with family and friends and to find a good bargain.

She lived a life devoted to God, sharing kindness and caring for others. She took many joys in simple pleasures.

She lived with a courage, strength and grace that has changed the lives of everyone around her.

Special thanks to Dr. Vickers, Dr. Bertens, Dr. Nair and the nurses of 5NE at the General Hospital. Thank you Father Tom Riopelle and Dr. Bright for comforting and providing Marilyn with quality care.

Funeral and internment will be held on August 5th at 1:00 PM at the Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa. All guests are invited to gather by 12:50 in front of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. in order to form a procession to the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Marilyn’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society is appreciated.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you

Dan, Family and Friends,

We are deeply saddened and sorry to hear of the passing of Marilyn. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

For the little time that we shared with Marilyn, you realized from the moment you met her that she was a kind and loving soul and always worrying about everybody else ahead of herself!

We pray that she’s in a better place where someone is looking after her for a change.

Marilyn (and Dan) was a treasured friend. We got together frequently for meals and fun. Even better were the numerous trips we made as couples to Palm Springs, Phoenix, and of course the girls trips to Europe. Her passing will leave a big hole in our lives.

Finance Council at St. Patrick’s Fallowfield

Members of Finance Council are deeply saddened by the death of Marilyn, a dedicated member of the Parish and an exemplary member of Finance Council. The past year at the Parish was challenging yet, despite that fact, rather than resign from Finance Council, Marilyn chose to devote an extensive amount of her precious time to the Parish finances and administration, all the whilst, enduring repeated treatments and operations caused by an insidious and ravaging pancreatic cancer. Marilyn was not just a friend and colleague but, was also hard working, incredibly bright, kind, loving, empathetic, compassionate, loyal, and, had a moral compass that she was not afraid to voice when required. We loved Marilyn and we will miss her dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan, Diane and Camille.

It is 36 years since I first met Marilyn and although our meetings have been infrequent over the years, the one thing that will remain with me is Marilyn's open friendliness, constant smile, cheerful laugh and infectious good nature. Dan, Camille and Diane - I will remember you especially in my prayers as you adjust to this new way of being without her physical presence in your lives, but rest assured, she remains with you in so many other ways.

We weren’t close; and didn’t spend a lot of time together, but when we did chance to meet, Marilyn was always so welcoming and warm. Whenever we would see her, she seemed to always know what was going on in our lives. That was a special quality. Such a beautiful person. I like to think that memories ensure those who are lost to us are never forgotten. She will be remembered always with much love. Our heartfelt condolences to Dan and the girls. ❤️
