It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing Denis, 74, on Friday afternoon, July 30th at the Ottawa General Hospital. Denis was born in Clarence Creek and grew up in Ottawa, ON. Predeceased by his loving parents, Emelie and Lionel. Survived by his loving partner and best friend Dora, his daughter Johanne (Paul), his son Alain (Louise), his siblings Monique, Laurier (Suzanne) and Bernard, his grandson Tyrone (Theresa) and also special friends. He enjoyed a long fulfilled career with Bell Canada as an electrical trouble shooter, allowing him to retire at 57 which allowed him time to spend time doing things he loved, like cycling, curling, baseball, travelling and his love for cars and fish. Many thanks to the oncology team (Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Sundeep) and urology team (Dr. Warren) and also for all doctors and staff at the Ottawa General Hospital that were involved in his care. A memorial service will be held on August 7th at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation services at 1pm. Due to covid restrictions there will be no reception.

Denis. You know the expression it takes a village. You were a huge part of that village. Your love of life and positivity was so special. You made everyone around you feel special. Condolences to your family of which you were so proud. You will be missed

Hi Denis, I can’t believe you’ve left us and I didn’t even get to say a proper good-bye. I’ll always remember and cherish your hearty laugh and the good times we had together. What kind of meat was in those mincemeat tarts anyway? RIP my friend, see you someday on the other side!

Our sincere condolences to all of Denis' family. I had some really great times over the years working at Bell with him. He was a kind man, with a good sense of humour and generous in sharing his knowledge with coworkers. Our thoughts are with all of you at this sad time.

Being a long time friend of Denis' daughter and son, growing up, he had an impact in my life. He was truly an honorable and respectable man full of talents. I will miss our conversations about all sorts of things. He was always welcoming and ready to share his wisdom and to offer valuable advice. He made us young men laugh with his lingo and comments. Denis will be missed.

My deepest condolences for the loss of Denis. It was always a pleasure working with Dennis and having a few pops after work.
In 39 years in telecommunication Denis was the only power technician that would not remove his ring and taped it up instead.
Rest in Peace Denis
