On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 Jason Oates, loving husband and father of two adoring children, passed away at the age of 47. Jason attended Cairine Wilson High School, graduated from Rideau High School, then worked for the City of Ottawa for over 20 years. He is an esteemed alumni of the Ottawa Irish Rugby Club and the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union (Harlequins). He will be remembered for his kind, caring and generous nature and his endless devotion to making meaningful memories for his family. Always generous with his time and spirit, he is beloved by family and friends and will be eternally missed. He is survived by his wife Tara Johnson, children Kailey and Kyler Oates, mother Huguette Oates, and brother Sean Oates. A private Graveside ceremony with immediate family will be held on May 7th, 2021, at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood ave.  Ottawa, Ontario. Those wishing to pay their respects may visit the Wallace plot (Section 48 Lot 28S)  in their own time from May 8th onward . A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in support of the family can be directed to oatesfamily2021@hotmail.com
