On February 28, Ida found peace after a brave battle with cancer.   Ida-spider was a breathtaking artist, seamstress, humourist, and naturalist.  Ida was born in Bournemouth, and emigrated to Montreal in 1954, with then husband John.  She had many friends and was passionate about her British heritage.  She is survived by spouse, Allan Jones; daughters Sabrina and Geneviève; and grandchildren, Alex, Malcolm and Mikele, and many loving English relatives.

Ida was more like a close friend than an older sister.
I miss her encyclopaedic knowledge of family history.

Allan and family, I give you my most heartfelt diner condolences on the passing of your wife and mother. I have enjoyed many delightful evenings with both of you Allan and I always felt the caring love between the two. I will miss her kind smile and words she's always had.

Queenie! I'll continue to show off all your awe-inspiring artwork and clothes that you made. Will eat all your favourite food and never get chubby, just like you. Miss you very much already. I came across a video that we took of you in Amboseli, of you doing a jig, and will share with everyone. Miniski is purring, and the little red squirrel is running around on the fence. 88 is a fine age, just like your mom and grandma. Lots of hugs and kisses. xxxxxooooo

It was always a pleasure talking to ida although mere words at this moment in time do little I believe our thoughts and pryers plus all those decades of loving memories will provide some measure of comfort to you Allan and your family for your loss. May she rest in peace,

David
