Passed at her home in Ottawa, on Thursday, February 18th, 2021; age 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Tiny” Wilson. Loving mother of Barbara (Alan Percival), Judy (Geoff Herbst), Sharon (Rod Shea) and Gord (Patricia Boal). Cherished grandmother of Sean, late Eric, Ian, Kristin, Natalie, Brad, Lindsay, Jessica and Jake. Special great-grandmother of Carter and Seyara. Blanche will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Leeder. Blanche had an unparalleled sense of humour, a smile that would force a smile, a firm grasp on English grammar, and most importantly she was a feeling of “home”. For this reason alone, she will always be in our hearts…remembered and celebrated.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa). Due to the COVID 19 restrictions a Private Family Service will be held at a later date followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery. For those who wish to donate in Blanche’s memory may do so towards the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Dear Barbara, Judy, Sharon, Gord and Families,

We send our sympathies while thinking of you and fondly remembering your loving Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandmother. We are very sorry for your loss.

Auntie Blanche holds a special place in my heart. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and beamed with pride for her lovely family.

She was so thoughtful, kind and generous, and ever so welcoming. During my visits to Ottawa over the years, she warmly invited me to visit with her and she always fed me well. She was a terrific cook! We never had a shortage of things to talk about and we always had a good laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humour.

Auntie Blanche was very good to Shannon and me, and to all of my family. We are happy and grateful to have had a loving connection with her. She was a very special lady and will be sorely missed.

May Auntie Blanche rest in peace knowing how much she is loved by us and all of you, and how she made a difference in our lives. May fond memories of her warm your hearts and keep her gentle spirit near you. God bless.

Love,
Laura, Shannon and Family xo

My condolences to all in Blanche’s family.
Blanche was secretary at St Gregory’s School while I was teaching and the Acting Principal there. She was a kind, gentle, sweet lady. We had many, many laughs together and I can still hear her laugh.
God bless.

The Voisey Family

My deepest condolences to all of Blanche's family. May you find strength in the memories you share David, Peter and Stephanie and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Blanche. We have such wonderful memories. When my Peter and Stephanie were born she became Nana Wilson to them and it was a role she took seriously. She was always there to help out and enjoyed making meals for David when I was out of town. She took care of us and I will be forever thankful for that. She became a friend and confidante who I missed over the last couple of years. We each have so many memories but Peter will always remember being called to go over to Nana Wilson's house to dispose of a mouse for her. What a great lady - you were lucky to call her Mom, Nana and Aunt and the Voisey family was lucky to call her friend.

Our sincere condolences to Barb, Judy, Sharon, Gordie and family on your loss. I have very fond memories of your mom from our days in Winnipeg to the cottage at White Lake. She kept in close contact with her friends, calling my mom almost daily. Before social media, she could be relied upon for information as to what was going on with everyone. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour. Though she asked, I could never bring myself to call her "Blanche". She will always be Mrs. Wilson to me and she will be greatly missed.

It was a lovely graveside service yesterday for Blanche. I have many fond memories of her, particularly the many happy times our families spent together whether in Winnipeg or here in Ottawa. She was a fabulous hostess, a wonderful cook, and a devoted friend to my parents. Heartfelt condolences to her children Barb, Judy, Sharon, and Gord, and their families. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by many.
