Lorain Muriel Sabad (nee Careless), of Orleans, Ottawa, Ontario. Born November 1, 1960. Died October 19, 2020, after a brief illness and complications from the COVID-19 virus, at the Ottawa General Hospital. Lorain is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mark Sabad, her sons Tony (Allison) and Ryan, and grandchildren Henry and Gloria. Also remembered by sisters, aunts, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Lorain will be greatly missed by her many friends around the country, collected from a full and happy life as a military spouse. She was born in Cold Lake AB and married in 1982 in Comox, BC. Before Ottawa, she also lived in Germany, Cold Lake, AB and was retired from office management work in Orleans. Lorain was a reader, gardener, home decorator and renovator; she enjoyed golfing and especially travelling, most recently for a safari in South Africa.

Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, attendance at the memorial service and interment will be restricted to a limited number of individuals, personally invited by the family. However, should you wish to attend Lorain Muriel’s memorial service, it will be live streamed on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. Please pre-register by visiting:

Mark. Our sincerest condolences to you and the boys. We were saddened when we read the news of Lorain’s passing. We all realize the monumental role our military spouses have in our careers, family and lives as a whole. From the deployments to the perennial night shifts, they are there to comfort us, understand us and love us. Lorain served as inspiration and role model for all military spouses, including Sheila. She lives on in all of us as she gave a bit of herself to all those she touched. Our thoughts, love and support to you.
