Lorain Muriel Sabad (nee Careless), of Orleans, Ottawa, Ontario. Born November 1, 1960. Died October 19, 2020, after a brief illness and complications from the COVID-19 virus, at the Ottawa General Hospital. Lorain is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mark Sabad, her sons Tony (Allison) and Ryan, and grandchildren Henry and Gloria. Also remembered by sisters, aunts, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Lorain will be greatly missed by her many friends around the country, collected from a full and happy life as a military spouse. She was born in Cold Lake AB and married in 1982 in Comox, BC. Before Ottawa, she also lived in Germany, Cold Lake, AB and was retired from office management work in Orleans. Lorain was a reader, gardener, home decorator and renovator; she enjoyed golfing and especially travelling, most recently for a safari in South Africa.

Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, attendance at the memorial service and interment will be restricted to a limited number of individuals, personally invited by the family. However, should you wish to attend Lorain Muriel’s memorial service, it will be live streamed on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. Please pre-register by visiting:

Mark I have started this note several time leaving thinking I will come up with something more that might help with your loss. I look back on the last time we seen you and Lorain in the summer of 2018. Sitting on your deck and recounting family stories. You and Lorain were so excited about your trip to Africa and Germany....how you had gone into some sort of trade fair with no intentions of buying anything and walking out with a trip. So happy you were able to do that and all the other trips you have gotten in. You were enjoying so much together. Our hearts ache for your loss.

Mark, Tony and Ryan! Memories are what we carry with us forever unless you choose not to. Good Friends and family are here to share in those memories and support each other for our future. Realizations of our past create paths to our future. Take the strength of Lorraine's memory and live your life with passion and on purpose as she would have wanted and as she did. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are all in this together. We are all blessed with human spirit to use for your/ our purpose.
