It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marissa Elaine Page on October 6, 2020 at age 26.  Cherished daughter of Danny Page and Franca Caluori, sister to Michael Page (Emily). She will be sadly missed by her grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Marissa will be remembered for her free spirit, her love of horses and riding, and her spunky dog, Milou.  She was creative, intelligent, fearless, and most at peace outdoors in nature.  Taken away too soon; lucky are those to have crossed paths with her.  Private memorial service will be held for family members.  If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Marissa to Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa would be appreciated.

Marissa my dear Childhood friend. You will always be remembered in my heart for your bravery and love for Danger. Wether it be wanting to jump really high on horseback or having no fear to try anything new. You will be dearly missed, sending your family lots of love and support through these tough times.

Franka and Danny thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter with the Maplecrest Stables Family and I for so many years. She was the little sister of my heart and the daughter I never had. I loved her immensely and cherish every moment I was blessed to have spent with her. She was an incredible athlete and an extremely talented, multi-discipline horsewoman. Some of Marissa’s many equestrian achievements include, Repeat Top Five Provincial Ranking Junior Ontario Competitive Trail Riding Circuit, consistent Red and Blue Ribbon winner over fences, and throughout the Arabian Horse Circuit, Stateside. Of the many memories I have of her, my fondest include; Finding her in ‘Boi’s’ stall, the two of them curled up and asleep on the eve of his show career debut and listening to her explain the next morning (at the age of 13) to a somewhat rude professional trainer that she was in fact warming-up in the right place, and that “ACTUALLY” he better lookout because she planned to beat him and win the Open Professional’s Class (which she did), standing beside Franka (the best, most supportive mom in the universe) and watching Marissa ride a full jump course without stirrups (after loosing one stirrup over her first jump, she kicked off the other and went for it) and lastly, her imitation trot, canter and gallop ‘on foot’ towards a jump that she had increasingly lifted until it was as high as her collarbone and clearing it with ease.
She was such a bright star, full of love, laughter, beauty and compassion. Life has been unkind to one of the kindest, most beautiful people that I have ever known. Little sister, I hope you’ve ridden into the sunset and found your peace.

May you rest in peace and may god watch over your family in their time of need. While we were not the best of friends we still shared many memories throughout our high school days. You were loved and will be deeply missed.

What fun we would have riding in the trails! Our car rides back and forth to the barn we would have long talks about life and good laughs.
Our first competitive trail ride, I remember you and Krista sleeping in the tent when Roseanna went to go get you, you said you thought her silhouette was “a lean bear”. You always had us laughing. Your humour and talent, a beauty inside and out; the total package.
May there be some comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten.

There are no words for such a terrible loss. Beautiful, smart, saucy, kind, strong, determined, an incredibly gifted athlete - she was a force. Her beautiful smile and the twinkle in her eye that let you know she was planning some adventure or another will be the vision I will keep of her. My deepest sympathies.

I remember teaching Marissa summer camp when she was just a tiny little kid. She was so cute and loved the horses so much. Sending condolences to all her friends and family.
