Margaret: I'm so glad I had the opportunity to have a few chats with Bill during recent months. He was charming and full of humour - right to the end. You did an amazing job as his caregiver. Our hearts are grieving with yours, my dear cousin. Rest well, Bill.

John (deceased) and I knew Bill and Margaret in the late sixties and early seventies when we all lived in Montreal. For a few winters we shared a winter house with others near Jay Peak where we would spend our weekends partying and skiing. Such good times and we all got to know each other well and had many laughs. Bill’s outlook on life was always worth listening to and debating. Bill and Margaret had a Rover and we had a Triumph 250 soft top (not so good for Montreal winters but we would race to the winter house and compare notes on arrival on car performance and road conditions. I visited Bill’s lovely Mum in Glasgow and she was a delight. We were very close friends in those days and have lovely lasting memories but adulthood arrived and we went went west to Vancouver and have not seen Bill for many years. Remembering you fondly Bill.

Uncle Bill was the first person who introduced me to the European world of Football.

He had purchased me a Scotland Rangers jersey in my formative years that I wore religiously. It may not have been high fashion but it was a staple in my wardrobe throughout all of Highschool, which lead me to be introduced too many proud Scots. That jersey surprisingly opened doors for me and started many conversations that would not normally have taken place. I may not own the jersey anymore but I will always remember the passion Uncle Bill had for Football, Scotland, and the wonderful surprise of receiving a Rangers jersey that meant so much to him.
