With his wife by his side, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Neville Fitzroy Francis on June 4, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Neville leaves behind his loving wife Cindy of 20 + years. He also leaves behind his parents Phyllis and Winston Richards, his brothers, Locksley, Tony, Donavan, and Wayne, his little sister Winsome (Winnie) as well as many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends (Michèle, Will, Amer, Daniel just to name a few). He will be greatly missed.

He will also be missed by his Ottawa motorcycle community. His love of speed and expensive taste brought on a great passion of Ducati motorcycles.

Neville was known by so many for his bright smile, positive attitude and unwavering desire to live life freely and on his own terms.

We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors and staff at the Ottawa General Hospital on 6 East, 6 West, 5 East and 5 West for their excellent and compassionate care. Special thanks to Dr. Safraz Mohammed for saving his life, as well as Dr. McCurdy and Dr. Buchan for their amazing care over the past years. Also thanks to Dr. Munro for making his last days comfortable and peaceful.

A Celebration of Life event will be held in Neville’s memory in the coming months. Those interested in attending can reach out to the family to obtain details.

Sincerest condolences to Cindy and the family, as well as the motorcycle community. Nev was my late dad's (brother Amin) best friend and he was always there for us, even when dad passed away. He organized a memorial in my dad's honor and continued to show us love. We pray that his soul forever rests in eternal peace and we hope that he is now reunited with my dad in heaven, riding into the sunset with the best ramps to go knees all the way down. He will be missed! With lots of love, the Kamani Family (Shain, Sarah and Alisha).

To the family, friends and all who knew Neville, I just wanted to pass on my sincerest condolences. I was lucky enough to see him a few months ago just outside of his residence. We only spoke for maybe 20 minutes but despite his illness, his positive attitude inspired and amazed me....he talked about being blessed and thankful for his wife, family and friends.....it was the same conversation we would have when I would pull up to him in the market, standing next to a motorcycle in a leather suit.....same Neville....and I'm so thankful for that! God Bless you all!
