Farrington, Adeline Mary (nee Schneider)

Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on January 26, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.  Born March 2, 1927 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to the late Henry and Mary Schneider. Cherished wife and soul mate of 68 years to her husband Ramon (Ray). Loving mother to Michael (Nancy), Robert (Cindy), Peter and Brenda (Angel). Proud grandmother to Jessica, Jennifer, Michelle, Shauna, Jason, David and Christopher; and great-grandmother to Paris, Sierra, Hanna, and Adeline. Predeceased by her son Lloyd (late Carol) and grandchildren Andrew and Erika.

Adeline was a lovely, gentle and kind person whose lifelong connection to nature began while growing up in the prairies of Alberta. Her fondest memories were of her horse, Tiny and dog Brownie; long strolls home after school through the grasslands where she was greeted daily by bluebirds, chickadees, and robins, later by hummingbirds and cardinals; and filling scrapbooks of her favorite movie  stars. Adeline focused her strength of character and determination on personal and community minded goals. While maintaining a secure and loving household, she successfully attained her Interior Decoration certification, and later completed a rigorous 40 week secretarial diploma from Seneca College, Toronto. Her lifelong community service contributions were highlighted by a 10 year career with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. A warm and sociable person, Adeline was an avid gardener and cook, she loved painting, poetry, reading, travelling, dancing and listening to classical music.

Special thanks are extended to the kind and tireless support over the years of Ludmila Chechui and the many other caregivers, including the staff of the Garry Armstrong and Chartwell Rockcliffe Retirement Residence. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Adeline’s life on Sunday March 15, 2020 at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery & Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. after 2 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. followed by a reception.

In memoriam donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (www.ottawa.bgccan.com) will be appreciated.
