THOMPSON, Mary “May” McLachlan (nee Laurie)
Passed away unexpectedly at the Queensway Carleton Hospital with her daughter by her side on Monday, September 16, 2019, at age 99.
May will be remembered by her daughter Kathryn and sons Scott (Sue Broeders) and Brian; by grandchildren Benjamin and Elijah and their mother Krista Klassen; as well as grandchildren John and Emma. May was predeceased by her husband Ronald “Toey” Thompson and her brother John “Jackie” Laurie.
Family and friends will no doubt share stories about May’s candid opinions, razor-sharp wit, and fierce emotions. She never stopped fighting for what she thought best for those she loved.
Thanks to Dr. Ajana MacBride and the staff at Carlington Community Health Centre and to the PSWs and nurses at Carlingwood Retirement Community for surrounding her with love and enabling her to enjoy the healthy and active life that she celebrated for more than 99 years.
What a beautiful tribute to a Mother!
As time goes by, you will notice that mothers never leave us; a song, a place and a feeling will be signs that she is always present in your heart and mind, specially the razor-sharp wit!
I send you all my love to you and your family in this time of grieving.
