Brian Joseph Starkings of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Monday, August 19th, 2019. Pre-deceased by his devoted partner Betty-Ann Lagasse and his parents Harold Starkings and Anna Philippe. He leaves behind his loving son Jim (Penny) and adoring daughter Brenda (David) White. He will be dearly missed by his granddaughter Ashley White (Zachary); as well as his brother Harold (Priscilla). Fondly remembered by his former spouse Annie Starkings, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Brian was a long-time employee of the Ottawa School Board and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Westboro Branch). Cherished past-times were playing pool and darts. Brian was admired by many as a kind, gentle man with a heart of gold.
At Brian`s request there will be no viewing or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 26th, 2019 at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave.) between 10am to 12noon, followed by a graveside service. Light refreshments and snacks will be served. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
