Linda Brown, beloved mother, wife, sister, friend, dedicated teacher and reluctant yet intrepid traveller, calmly embarked on The Last Great Adventure on August 30, 2019 surrounded by family.
“...for life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only the horizon, and the horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.”
A private Bon Voyage party will be held at a later date for family only.

My thoughts and heart are with you. Although I only knew Linda for a short time, I could see her light and love shine through. May she rest in peace.

Girl Talk; The Hidden Deeper Meaning
With Linda there was always an opportunity for deep meaningful conversation, over tea, dishes, diapers, cooking, camping, hiking. We had tons of laughs, and the inevitable tears - Linda’s, not mine, lol!.......We shared many things but there was one particular characteristic that we had in common; our intuition.
In our lives, we both perceived deeper meanings in relatively insignificant occurrences. Over the years we talked about anything and everything but our conversation would invariably gravitate to those significant hidden meanings we perceived in life.
One day at our canoe campsite at Kingsford Lake while we were washing up our dishes together after supper, Linda said “Isn’t it interesting, how we each start off with our own cutlery and by the end of the camping trip, you have some of ours and we go home with some of yours. It just happens and it’s so perfect, right?” Her eyes sparkling with tears, met mine with complete understanding and awe of just how uniquely the universe unfolds.
Linda, the light and love in me, honours the light and love in you.
Your friend,
Debbie

I cherish the years of working with Linda at Greely Elementary. Her compassion was constant for the many students she taught and her devotion to our profession was admirable.
Rest In Peace dear Linda.

“Time passes. Listen. Time passes.”
~ Dylan Thomas
Linda, this is a true story, and one I know you’ll appreciate. I attended a funeral a few years back, and the presiding minister talked about having to explain to a grieving young girl her grandmother’s death. As one might expect, his learned recital discussed such topics as the “soul”, that eternal and incorporeal part of every human being, and the “spirit”, our vital energy which survives bodily death. At the end of the minister’s rather scholarly talk, the little girl thought for a moment and simply said to him, “You mean she’s still real.” Dearest Linda, you are still real. Be seeing you, my old friend.
“Bright, glorious days! Don’t cry because they’re gone.
But smile: rejoice that they have been.”

Linda,
May your spirit and soul fly "into the mystic" with the peace, love and knowledge that come with a life well lived.

Dear Marc, family and friends. We're so saddened to hear of her death. Our thoughts are with you all during these difficult times. Although we didn't know Linda as well as we would have liked, she was always so pleasant and soft spoken in our encounters. The guest book comments clearly speak to a special individual who will be missed by all whose life she touched so deeply. Rest in peace Linda. David & Carole, Calgary AB.

Linda, "we hardly knew ye", but we knew from others that you were a wonderful person and a devoted friend to many. Rest in peace.

Dear Marc, And family and friends of Linda,
As always, with the passing of someone as special as Linda, it is challenging to articulate a text that captures even a bit of her life. For Gordon and I her good nature, sense of humour and compassion will stay with us. One irony, and there’s many, we were hoping to see more of Linda & Marc with the move to New Edinburgh.
With love
Marie and Gordon
