On October 14th, 2021 Gordan R. Borland, 73, of Ottawa ON (born in Toronto), passed away surrounded by his loving family. Gord leaves behind his loving partner of 28 years, Susan Poulin. He also leaves behind his former spouse of 24 years, Claudette Borland. Gord leaves behind his only daughter Kristina Borland-Bothwell, his devoted son-in-law Andrew Bothwell and his three loving grandchildren, Sera Jade (22), Jackson (8) and Spencer (4). Gord also leaves behind his two sisters, Gail Borland and Cathy Santolini (Carlos Miranda) as well as his niece Samantha Wallace (Troy) and his great niece Olivia and two great nephews Owen and Max. Predeceased by his loving parents John and Marjorie Santolini, who raised him to be the exceptional father, and devoted grandfather that he was. Gord’s kindness, energy and sense of humour will live on in all of us.
Gord proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before beginning a long standing employment with Statistics Canada which led to a career in IT where he worked until his retirement. Gord was a lifelong lover of animals, travelling and classic automobiles. He enjoyed being active and playing sports (NGMHL, softball, golf and forever the fisherman, a bond created between he and his dad at the cottage so many years ago).
A visitation will be held at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave.) on Thursday, October 21st, 2021 from 1-3pm. Words of remembrance will take place at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Canadian Cancer Society.

I so sorry for your loss.I remember Gord when he came home with his Corvette he had a smile a mile long. He loved old cars. In heaven he will drive a Corvette so he can drive fast from relatives that he now hangs out with. God speed Gord… no speed limits there means no cops or tickets… haha

I haven't seen Gord in a long time, maybe 40 years. I was a teenager at the time and can smile with quite a few memories from hanging with the Borlands. My sincere condolences to all his loved ones.
