“We are celebrating the life of Edmund Becker, a “very happy and lucky guy” devoted to his family and to work. He adored his wife and partner Hildegard of over 60 years with whom he built a successful farm and family. He was always grateful that she agreed to leave Germany and begin a new life in Canada with him. Together they were entrepreneurial, determined to be successful in business and to have a rich family life. The four children, Chris (Lynda), Marc (Kathleen), Gina (Tracey), and Michele (John), 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren invite you to celebrate his life.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish (400 St. Laurent Blvd) on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
Following the mass, there will be a reception at the Rockcliffe Retirement Residence, 12th floor, 100 Island Lodge Road.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice or to the Lower Trent Conservation, an environmental group that Edmund supported, that was formed to protect and restore natural resources within the Lower Trent Conservation Watershed Region.”

I just recently learned of Ed’s passing. So sorry to hear. I have so many memories of your family growing up in Smithfield. I know Ed visited my Mom and Dad many years ago in Brighton and they were so happy to see him again. I also have moved from the area now but have many good memories of Smithfield. My condolences to you and all your family
We are sorry for your lose. He was a lovely man and we always looked forward to seeing him at shareholder meetings. Our hearts and prayers to the family.
