Surrounded by love, Cecil passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 after a brief illness. Cecil was the loving husband of Claire for 39 years and was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley. Father of Larry (Kathy), David, and Wendy, Cecil was also a beloved grandfather. Cecil was the dear brother of Viola, Faye, Beatrice and Jack.
Cecil enjoyed many great friendships in his 63 years of business in Ottawa. He will be remembered for his friendliness and his playful sense of humour. An avid sportsman, Cecil loved golf, curling, and bowling. He was a long-time member of the Rockland Golf Course, where he was known for his three-hour rounds.
The family would like to thank the team at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
Friends and family are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Friday, September 6th from 1:00 p.m., until time of a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Sacred Space of Beechwood.
Cecil was a volunteer and supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Ottawa for over thirty-five years. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Ronald Mcdonald House Ottawa would be appreciated.
Cecil will be deeply missed by his many friends and loved ones.

To Larry and Family:
My sincerest condolences in the passing of your dad. My fondest memory of Mr. Wagorn. Alta Vista Minor Hockey, 1974, freezing cold morning at the old Walkley Arena. Walking in for a practice and greeted by his big smile and laugh!
Just a great guy!
May he Rest in Peace.

To Claire, Larry and extended family I extend my heartfelt condolences on Cecil’s passing. It was a true pleasure to spend so many hours on the golf course with him. He embodied golf the way it’s meant to be enjoyed. He was welcoming, inclusive, talented and a great sense of humour. His love of family was evident in the pride with which he spoke about them. I feel sad to see him pass on, but privileged to have met and spent time with him.
