Owner, W & W Plumbing & Heating

Surrounded by love, Cecil passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 after a brief illness. Cecil was the loving husband of Claire for 39 years and was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley. Father of Larry (Kathy), David, and Wendy, Cecil was also a beloved grandfather. Cecil was the dear brother of Viola, Faye, Beatrice and Jack.

Cecil enjoyed many great friendships in his 63 years of business in Ottawa. He will be remembered for his friendliness and his playful sense of humour. An avid sportsman, Cecil loved golf, curling, and bowling. He was a long-time member of the Rockland Golf Course, where he was known for his three-hour rounds.

The family would like to thank the team at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital for their compassionate care and support.

Friends and family are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Friday, September 6th from 1:00 p.m., until time of a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Sacred Space of Beechwood.

Cecil was a volunteer and supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Ottawa for over thirty-five years. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Ronald Mcdonald House Ottawa would be appreciated.

Cecil will be deeply missed by his many friends and loved ones.

Dear Larry, Wendy and David. I was so sorry to learn of your dad's passing. Who could ever forget Cecil! He was the happiest gentleman (and a gentleman he was) I knew. Always smiling and he always had a joke. I know how much he will be missed. I am thinking of you all at this sad time and remembering Cecil.

With love,

Nancy McLean

Incredibly sorry Larry and family. "Cec" as we called him, was always in a good mood, always happy to see people, and had a great sense of humour. Everybody that knew him, loved him. Somehow, I know he will still guide his family. Cecil was a treasure.
